Palestinian injured by Israeli gunfire south of Hebron; four others affected by pepper spray

HEBRON, April 18, 2026 (WAFA) – A Palestinian youth was injured by Israeli gunfire on Saturday evening near the Meitar checkpoint, south of Hebron in the southern West Bank.

Palestinian security and local sources told WAFA that Israeli forces opened fire at workers near the Israeli separation wall close to the Meitar checkpoint, wounding one of them with live ammunition. He was transferred to a hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident, four Palestinians were injured after Israeli forces sprayed them with pepper spray in the Wadi Al-Sharq area in the town of Sa'ir, northeast of Hebron.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its crews treated four people injured in the attack and transferred them to hospital for medical care.
