RAMALLAH, May 31, 2012 (WAFA) – German President Joachim Gauck arrived in Ramallah Thursday on the final day of a four-day visit to Israel and the Palestinian Territory.

President Mahmoud Abbas received Gauck in official ceremonies and after playing the national German and Palestinian anthems and inspecting the honor guard the two leaders went inside to hold talks.

Gauck arrived in Ramallah coming from Nablus where he attended the inauguration of a German-funded girls school in the village of Burin.

He will later meet Prime Minister Salam Fayyad before ending his visit.

Gauck arrived in Israel on Monday where he held talks with Israeli officials.
