RAMALLAH, May 6, 2012 (WAFA) - The overall Quantity of Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestinian Territory reached 99.30 in March of 2012, registering a decrease by 2.84% compared to February, Sunday said a press release by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

The decrease in IPI was due to the decrease in water supply and electricity industry by 21.71% compared to the previous month, forming a share of 14.85% of the total industry, added PCBS.

Mining and quarrying industry decreased by 42.38% during the same period and formed a share of 4.59% of the total industry. Meanwhile, manufacturing increased by 5.94% compared to the previous month, and registered a share of 80.56% of the total industry.
