RAMALLAH, May 5, 2012 (WAFA) – Minister of Prisoners Issa Qaraqe Saturday told WAFA that the Israel Prison Service handed the hunger-striking prisoners its response to their demands.
The prisoners are deliberating and studying the Israeli response, he added.
Head of the Palestinian Prisoners Club Qaddura Fares said on Friday the Israeli response was previously proposed to the prisoners one day before they went on the open-ended hunger strike. The prisoners had then refused the Israeli proposal, he said.
Around 1600 Palestinian prisoners started a mass open-ended hunger strike on April 17 protesting the administrative detention policy and their deteriorated living conditions in Israeli jails.
