RAMALLAH, April 29, 2012 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies Sunday highlighted President Mahmoud Abbas and Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki’s meeting, during which they discussed activating the Palestinian-Tunisian bilateral commission.

Al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported on Egyptian attempts to maintain relations and overcome crisis with Saudi Arabia, following its decision to close its embassy and consulates in Egypt after anti-Saudi protests in Egypt.
Protests in Egypt erupted against the Saudi diplomatic delegations after Saudi Arabia detained an Egyptian human rights activist under the pretext of violating majesty, also known as “Lese Majeste.”
Al-Hayat al-Jadida focused on Israeli President Shimon Peres’ unusual calls on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to initiate a political move to start direct negotiations with the Palestinian Authority in order to reach a solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The dailies reported on Prime Minister Salam Fayyad stressing PA’s refusal of all Israeli attempts to distort Palestinian curricula in East Jerusalem.
Al-Quds editorial tackled Former Shin Bet security service head Yuval Diskin’s statements, in which he said that both Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak are not interested in pushing the peace process forward.
