RAMALLAH, April 28, 2012 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Engineers Association Saturday announced that it will continue with a strike started on Wednesday in support of public sector engineers demanding better conditions, said an Engineers Association press release.
Ahmad Adeili, head of the Palestinian Engineers Association, said in a statement that the union will escalate its measures if the government does not give in to the demands of the public sector engineers.
The engineers are planning to take their protests to the streets in the next few days, starting with a protest in front of the prime minister’s office in Ramallah.
The engineers are demanding better salary allowances, particularly an increase in risk premium, as well as better raises.
