RAMALLAH, April 26, 2012 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday suppressed a peaceful demonstration held in front of the Israeli Ofer prison near Ramallah in solidarity with striking Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and arrested one activist, according to local sources.

They said that forces fired tear gas canisters at the protesters causing several suffocation cases among them.

Meanwhile, reports said Israeli soldiers arrested Abdullah Abu Rahma, coordinator of the Bilin Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements, after searching his car and confiscating Palestinian flags and banners supporting the prisoners in their struggle against the Israeli prison administration.
