JERUSALEM, March 15, 2012, (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday arrested a Palestinian at Qalandia checkpoint, halfway between Jerusalem and Ramallah, suspected of stabbing a female Israeli soldier at a train station in the colony of Pisgat Zeev, east of Jerusalem, according to Israeli reports.
The soldier received several stab wounds to the chest and was transferred to hospital where she was reported in moderate condition.
Police and special units set up road blocks and raided several shops and houses in the East Jerusalem neighborhoods of Shufat and Beit Hanina, adjacent to the settlement, in search of the stabber.
No details were given on the identity of the arrested Palestinian.
