HEBRON, March 6, 2012 (WAFA) – Two children were killed Tuesday and four other people were injured, all from the same family, when an explosion ripped through a metal scrap shop in the Hebron area town of Sair, a police statement said.
The children, Hamza Zayed Jaradat, 13, and Zayed Muhammad Jaradat, 12, were killed in the explosion, while the others, varying in age between 13 years and 30, were injured and taken to hospital in Hebron, said the statement.
The explosion was caused by an Israeli army leftover mortar shell that was among metal scrap the shop owners have collected.
Sappers sealed off the area in fear of the presence of other explosives.
