RAMALLAH, March 1, 2012 (WAFA) – The meeting in Ankara between President Mahmoud Abbas and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan dominated the front page headlines of Thursday’s three Palestinian Arabic dailies.
The two leaders discussed the Doha agreement to achieve Palestinian reconciliation and the Cairo meetings, said the three dailies.
They also highlighted the Israeli raid against Wattan TV and Al-Quds Educational Television in Ramallah.
The latest cold stormy weather that hit the Palestinian Territory on Wednesday and caused damage to houses, trees and properties also was highlighted on the front page of the three dailies.
Al-Quds front page story featured an international report that said Jewish settlers were granted full access to the occupied Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea area, unlike Palestinians who are not allowed to benefit from them, which make up 30% of the West bank.
The papers reported on statistics published by the Israeli Ministry of Interior which stated that 63.1% of Jerusalem residents are Israelis; the total number of Jerusalem residents will hit one million by the end of 2012, it said.
