RAMALLAH, February 27, 2012 (WAFA) – Japan Monday granted $824,075 for a project to support the agricultural sector in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement by Japan representative office to PA.

The representative of Japan to the PA, Naofumi Hashimoto, and the representative of the Japanese Campaign for the Children of Palestine (CCP), Tetsuya Nakamura, signed the grant to a three-year sponsored by the Japanese NGOs to support training and promoting methods of sustainable practices friendly to the environment.

The project will include training sessions for Palestinian agricultural engineers and farmers in three greenhouses established by the Agricultural Relief Committees in the Strip.

Meanwhile, CCP will distribute seedlings produced during the training sessions to the children of affected farmers.
