Administrative Detainees to Boycott Israeli Courts

RAMALLAH, February 22, 2012 (WAFA) – More than 300 Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli jails decided Wednesday to boycott Israeli military courts, according to a press release by the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club.

It said the struggle of Khader Adnan, who went on hunger strike to protest his detention and won a deal for his release in April, has opened the door for other prisoners to start their battle against administrative detention.

The prisoners said they will not recognize Israeli military courts starting March because they will not accept administrative detention practices of the Israeli government.

Physicians for Human Rights Israel Tuesday called on the government of Israel to stop the practice of administrative detention against Palestinians describing it as “harmful practice.”
