CAIRO, January 7, 2012 (WAFA) – Palestinian monitors will next week join the Arab League observer mission in Syria, Saturday announced Arab League official Adnan Khdair.
He said in a statement that Palestinians, Mauritanians, and Somalis will join the 163 Arab monitors, who aim to find a way to end the regime’s ten-month violent crackdown against opposition protesters.
The Syrian government agreed last month to allow Arab League observers in the country.
