French Alliance Inaugurates New Premises in Bethlehem

JERUSALEM, December 20, 2011 (WAFA) – The French Alliance Foundation inaugurated Tuesday its new premises in Bethlehem, replacing the former one in the Peace Center, according to press release by the French Consulate General in Jerusalem.

 

The Foundation acts as a French cultural center, “which aims at spreading the French language and cultur in Bethlehem and the surrounding area and plays a key role as a focal point for numerous Franco-Palestinian cooperation projects implemented in this area, said the release.

 

The secretary general of the French Alliance Foundation, Jean-Claude Jacq, and the French Consul General in Jerusalem, Frederic Desagneaux, inaugurated the new premises in the presence of the Bethlehem Mayor Victor Batarseh and Governor Abdel Fattah Hamayel.

 

French cultural centers are present in Jerusalem, Ramallah, Nablus, Gaza and Hebron.
