Colonists expand illegal outposts in Hebron and Nablus, erect mobile homes and tents on Palestinian land

HEBRON, July 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists, under the protection of occupation forces, installed three new mobile homes on Wednesday in the Jabal al-Rahma area of Hebron, in an effort to expand illegal colonies on Palestinian land.

According to local sources, the mobile homes were placed near the illegal colony of  Tel Rumeida. Jabal al-Rahma, which has already seen large portions confiscated by the Israeli military. The move is part of ongoing attempts to take control over Palestinian-owned land and forcibly displace local residents.

Earlier, similar mobile homes were installed in the Khazaf al-Far area and the Old Market (Souq al-Atiq) of Hebron’s historic center.

Elsewhere in the occupied West Bank, colonists set up several tents on lands belonging to the village of Beit Imrin, northwest of Nablus.

Murad Shteiwi, head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission in the northern West Bank, told WAFA that colonists placed approximately four tents in the area between the villages of Burqa and Beit Imrin. He cautioned that the move likely marks the beginning of a new colonial outpost.

Shteiwi also affirmed  that such outposts are part of a broader strategy to expand  colonies and link major colony blocs across key strategic areas. He noted that since the start of 2025, colonists have established 23 new outposts, most of them classified as herding outposts.
