RAMALLAH, December 12, 2011 (WAFA) - The Acting Representative of the European Union in the West Bank and Gaza, John Gatt-Rutter, Monday reiterated in an interview with Voice of Palestine radio, the EU’s refusal of the Israeli settlements expansion in the Palestinian Territory that “does not serve peace.”

EU will continue to support the Palestinian Authority financially and politically, regardless of the current European financial crisis, Rutter added.

He further emphasized the importance of the Palestinian internal reconciliation and the Egyptian efforts to implement it, indicating that the EU Foreign Policy Chief, Catherine Ashton, continues her efforts to end the Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip.
