CAIRO, December 7, 2011 (WAFA) – League of Arab States, Wednesday condemned the Israeli military court’s decision to expel Jerusalem resident and Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) member, Ahmad Atton to the West Bank, according to an official.
The Arab League's Head of Palestine Affairs, Mohammad Sbaih said, during a press conference, that this decision violates the immunity granted to Palestinian lawmakers and comes within the Israeli raciest and aggressive policies against Palestinians.
He added that the Israeli targeting of Jerusalemite leaders is not a new Israeli policy, rather it is a continuation of a policy followed by the Israeli government since 1967, which started by expelling Abdel Hamid Sa'ih, the former head of the Islamic Board in Jerusalem.
He stressed that the Israeli policy of targeting Jerusalemite leaders will not succeed in forcing the Palestinians to leave their land.
He said that the Israeli crimes will only escalate the situation in the whole region.
