RAMALLAH, December 7, 2011 (WAFA) - Jaafar Hudeib the Director Manger of the Palestine Investment Promotion Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with its Turkish counterpart to strengthen areas of cooperation between the two countries, Wednesday said a press release by ministry of national economy.
It said that the agreement, signed at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Economy in Ramallah, comes within the framework of the discussion meetings of the Palestinian-Turkish committee concerned with activating the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed in 2004.
Hudeib affirmed that preparations are under way in order to hold the Palestinian-Turkish business conference scheduled for next May in accordance with the recommendations of business ministers at the countries of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership.
He added that this international Palestinian-Turkish conference aims to discuss ways to support and develop the Palestinian economy as well as all available opportunities and mechanisms to remove obstacles that stand in the way of benefiting from them.
He said that the Turkish side has agreed to start implementing the Understanding agreement immediately, starting by holding a training course for a number of the investment promotion board’s members in Turkey in April to enable them to review the Turkish experience in the field of attracting investments and developing them.
