SALFIT, December 7, 2011 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers Wednesday set fire to the entrance of a mosque and a number of vehicles belonging to Palestinians in Bruqin village, in Salfit governorate of the West Bank, according to village residents.
Residents said a number of Jewish settlers raided the village at dawn and set fire to Ali Bin Talib mosque after they failed to open its door.
They also burned a number of Palestinian vehicles that belong to Palestinians in the area.
Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, said that “this assault comes within a series of attacks organized and supported by the extremist right wing Israeli government, which is targeting our people, their holy sites and their land.”
He told Voice of Palestine that these attacks reveal the true face of Israeli aggression.
Hussein called on the Israeli government to respect religions and enforce laws to prevent settlers from attacking Palestinians and their properties.
