Nine Palestinians Arrested in West Bank

WEST BANK, December 5, 2011 (WAFA) – The Israeli army Monday arrested nine Palestinians from the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank and the cities of Bethlehem and Hebron in the southern West Bank, according to security and local sources.

Israeli forces raided several neighborhoods in Nablus at dawn Monday and inspected a number of houses in the refugee camps of Balata and Ein Beit al-Maa, also known as Camp No.1.

The army arrested Hasan Shalbayeh, 45, and Hussam al-Razzeh, 54, from Nablus city, Maher Harb, 39, from Balata and Rida Khaled from Camp No.1.

In Bethlehem, Israeli soldiers raided al-Khader, a town south of Bethlehem, raided and ransacked the houses of Ali Salah, 29, and Ashraf Salah, 31, and arrested them, said local sources.

In addition, two brothers from Husan, a village near Bethlehem, were arrested late Sunday night.

Mohammed Awad, spokesman of the National Committee against the Wall and Settlements in Beit Ummar, a town north of Hebron, told WAFA that Israeli forces raided the town, ransacked the house of Murad Ikhleel, 19, confiscated his personal computer and arrested him.

Moreover, security sources in Hebron said that Israeli forces raided several neighborhoods in Hebron city, put up checkpoints, searched Palestinians’ vehicles and inspected their IDs.
