Prisoner Club Holds Israel Fully Responsible for Life of Prisoner

RAMALLAH, December 4, 2011 (WAFA)  - The Palestinian Prisoner Club (PPC) held the Israeli authorities fully responsible for the life of the sick Palestinian prisoner Safi Hoshyeh from Yamoun, a town west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, Sunday said a report by PPC.

The report said, following the PPC lawyer’s visit to Israeli Shata prison, that the prison’s administration refuses to treat Hoshyeh, who suffers from several diseases including a blood-poisoning condition, allergies and a persisting itching throughout his body, causing his health to deteriorate.

Hoshyeh said, “I have applied dozens of requests for treatment since 2005 but the prison’s administration keeps stalling and refusing to follow up with my condition. Even when the doctors cared and visited me, the administration refused to carry out their recommendations and provide me with the necessary treatment.”

He called upon all concerned parties to pressure the administration to provide him with the necessary treatment in order to put an end to his suffering and save his life.

PPC affirmed that the concerned parties began pursuing his case, stressing that the condition of the sick Palestinian prisoners, detained at Israeli jails, is unbearable in light of the deliberate neglect of their conditions and the stalling in providing them needed treatment.

PPC called upon human rights organizations to intervene in order to find a radical solution to the Israeli measures practiced against Palestinian prisoners detained at Israeli jails.
