Operation Dove: Israeli Army Arrests Palestinian Boy in Susiya

HEBRON, December 4, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers arrested a Palestinian boy on Saturday during a demonstration in Khirbet Susiya, a locale south of Yatta in Hebron, Sunday said a press release by Operation Dove.

It said about fifty people, including men, women, children, Israeli and international peace activists, walked with flags to protest against the blocking of a road by the Israeli army, and started clearing the blocking passage, accompanied by the singing of protests from women and children.

The work on improving the road by the Palestinians is considered illegal under Israeli administration, and Israeli soldiers soon arrived at the scene, said Operation Dove.

“With the arrival of the Israeli army, many children walked toward the soldiers, singing and waving flags, making them go back. After a while soldiers arrested a Palestinian boy who they claim to be guilty of having damaged a truck with a flag,” said the press release.

It added that, in the attempt to prevent the arrest of the boy, an international activist received an elbow on her face by an Israeli policeman.

The Palestinian boy was grabbed by three police officers and carried off in an army van, which sped in the direction of a woman that stood in the path of the vehicle to stop it. In addition, an elderly woman was yanked by a soldier at the scene.
