RAMALLAH, December 1, 2011 (WAFA) - External Exports decreased in September, 2011 by 8.8% compared to August 2011 and reached about US$ 57.8 Million, Thursday said a report by Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
It said that exports to Israel decreased in September 2011 by 7.5% compared to September 2011.
Palestinian Exports to other countries decreased by 19.7% during the same period compared to August 2011, it said.
The report showed that exports to Israel represented 90.6% of the total exports in September 2011.
While imports increased in September 2011 by 1.9% compared to August of the same year and reached US$ 350.7 Million.
It said that imports from Israel increased by 14.8 % in September 2011 compared to August 2011.
The report showed that imports from Israel represented 71.8 percent of total imports in September, 2011.
On the other hand, imports from other countries decreased by 20.9% compared to August 2011.
The trade balance which represents the difference between exports and imports showed an increase in trade deficit by 4.3 percent compared to August, 2011 and reached US$ 292.9 Million.
