PCBS: Construction Cost Index Increases in October

RAMALLAH, December 1, 2011 (WAFA) - The overall Construction Cost Index (CCI) reached 113.45 with an increase of 0.09% in the West Bank during October 2011 compared to September 2011 (base month December 2007=100), according to Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) report on Thursday.

The changes in (CCI) for October 2011 is traced back to the changes in the cost of the major construction inputs compared to the previous month, such as Cutting and shaping stones which increased by 0.53% and Ceramic products by 0.08%. While Cement products decreased by 0.15%, and iron and steel decreased by 0.03%.

 
The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 111.53 with an increase of 0.13% in the West Bank during October 2011 compared to September 2011 (base month December 2008=100).
 
The changes in the RCI 2011 is traced back to the changes in the cost of the major road inputs compared to the previous month such as asphalt, bitumen mixture and its products which increased by 0.23%, other metals by 1.50%, operating costs of equipment & maintenance by 0.57%; while quarries and quarrying products by 0.21% and iron and steel by 0.05%.                                                                                                       

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 107.77 with an increase of 0.16% in the West Bank during October 2011 compared to September 2011 (base month January 2010=100).

 

The changes in the WNCI Index for October 2011 is traced back to the changes in the cost of the major water networks inputs compared to the previous month such as water reservoirs which increased by 0.02%, excavations 0.22% and plastic and steel pipes by 0.35%.

 

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 103.81 with an increase of 0.01% in the West Bank during October 2011 compared to September 2011 (base month January 2010=100).

 

The changes in the SNC Index for October 2011 is traced back to the changes in the cost of the major sewage networks inputs compared to the previous month such as excavations which increased by 0.22%, asphalt and bitumen mixture and its products by 0.21%. While deface materials decreased by 0.19% and plastic and cement pipes 0.25%.
