RAMALLAH, August 15, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli prisons administration in Etzion provides Palestinian prisoners with their only strictly ascetic meal at 10 p.m. during Ramadan, the holy month of fasting for Muslims when they refrain from eating or drinking from sunrise to sunset, Monday said the Ministry of Prisoners.
A ministry’s lawyer reported that the Israeli administration provides the prisoners with a loaf of bread, a tomato, a cucumber and a can of yogurt almost four hours after sunset, which sums up to nearly 19 hours of continuous fasting.
Additionally, prisoner Mahmoud Zaa’lol said that there are 25 Palestinian minors imprisoned in Etzion, whom have been beaten and harassed during their arrest.
The ministry warned that these minors are forced to sign unknown affidavits in Hebrew based on which they are being tried.
