BETHELEHEM, August 10, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers Wednesday injured three Palestinians and arrested 10 foreign activists, participating in protests against the Apartheid Wall and Israeli settlements in al-Walja, a village northwest of Bethlehem, according to a member of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlement in the village of Al-Walja, Ala Al-Draas.
Draas said that the Israeli soldiers attacked and prevented protesters from reaching the village of Ain Jweizeh, a neighborhood in the village, where Israeli bulldozers are razing lands to complete the construction of the separation wall.
He added that Israeli soldiers arrested 10 activists, chased protesters in the village’s streets and alleys, fired rubber bullets and tear gas bombs at protesters, injuring three Palestinians, as well as raided several houses and tampering with their contents.
In preparation of completing the construction of the wall, the Israeli soldiers marked dozens of olive trees to uproot them. In addition, they began bulldozing lands in the village of al-Walja two weeks ago, he said.
