JERUSALEM, August 8, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu Monday urged 20 foreign ambassadors to Washington to reject the Palestinian plan to seek UN recognition and full membership, which will seriously jeopardize the peace process, according to a press release issued from Netanyahu’s office.
In a meeting with a group of foreign ambassadors, held in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said, “Supporting this decision will affect negatively on the possibility of resuming the negotiations and pushing forward the peace process. A unilateral decision at the UN will prevent the Palestinian leadership from accepting necessary compromises on their side to achieve peace.”
The mission, which was organized by 'The Israel Project', included a number of ambassadors representing countries from Africa, Asia, Central America and Eastern Europe. Most of these countries do not have embassies in Israel.
