BRUSSELS, August 3, 2011 (WAFA) – The European Union Tuesday urged Israel to inquire into the death of two Palestinians killed on Monday by Israeli soldiers in a military operation in Qalandia refugee camp near Ramallah.
Michael Mann, spokesman for EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton, said “EU is saddened and concerned by the killing. We call on the Israeli authorities to exercise restraint and thoroughly investigate the incident.”
United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East, Robert Serry, also expressed concern over Israel’s killing of two Palestinians in Qalandia refugee camp near Ramallah and called on Israel to investigate the incident.
Israeli soldiers had Monday killed two Palestinians and injured another in a military operation in Qalandia refugee camp near Ramallah, in the central West Bank.
