Al-Agha Briefs Maldivian President on Developments of Palestinian Question

MALE, July 31, 2011 (WAFA) - Palestinian Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Anwar al-Agha Sunday briefed President of the Republic of Maldives Mohamed Nasheed on the latest developments regarding the Palestinian cause, in light of the peace process blockage and the stalled negotiations due to the Israeli intransigence.

On the margin of his participation of the 46th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Maldives and during a meeting held in the presidential palace of Male, capital of Maldives, al-Agha, briefed Nasheed on the Palestinian preparations to go to the United Nations to seek a full UN admitission and recognition of a palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.

Maldives’ president stressed his country’s and people’s support of the Palestinian bid to go to UN next September.

Al-Agha also met with Maldivian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Naseem and briefed him on the latest developments of the Palestinian issue and the preparations to go to UN next September.
