CAIRO, May 22, 2011 (WAFA) - Amr Moussa, secretary general of the Arab League, said Saturday that the Palestinian Authority called on the Arab League to hold an urgent meeting for its peace initiative follow-up committee to discuss the US initiative.
The meeting is to discuss US President Barak Obama’s Thursday Middle East speech, the Israeli reaction to it, and the Arab position from the speech.
Moussa said that he agreed with the Egyptian government to form a supreme committee to supervise implementation of the Palestinian reconciliation agreement signed in Cairo on May 4.
He hoped that this would be done before the end of his term at the Arab League.
