JERUSALEM, May 16, 2011 (WAFA) – Palestinian Prisoners’ Club Monday said in a report that Israeli forces arrested more than 118 Palestinians during the Nakba commemoration in Jerusalem.
Israeli police arrested 43 Palestinians from Shu’fat refugee camp and al-Walaja village, among them a woman who was later released and 8 foreigners in solidarity who participated in the demonstrations. 40 Palestinians from the Old City were also detained.
Prisoners’ Club lawyers said the detainees were severely beaten by Israeli security forces, which also fired rubber bullets at them.
