WAFA Monitors Incitement and Racism in Israeli Media

RAMALLAH, May 11, 2011 (WAFA) - Palestine News and Information Agency (WAFA) monitored incitement and racism against the Palestinians and Arabs published by the Israeli media between April 29 and May 5.

‘Hamodia” religious newspaper published a letter sent to Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, by Journalist, David Badin, which called on his government to stop funding the Palestinian education, claiming that Israel funds “Instigation in Palestinian Schools”. He said in the letter, “I don’t understand how the government funds building schools in Judea, Samaria and Gaza without changing the curricula.”

He said, “Don’t they get that Israel’s money funds instigation against Israel; Israel must control and change the Palestinian curricula.”

Dror Edar wrote an instigating article in ‘Israel Today’ newspaper titled “PLO in Partnership with Hamas”; in which he compared between the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas and Syrian president Bashar al-Asad (who is a terrorist figure in Israel).

The article is part of the campaign launched against the PLO which claims that it is allied with ‘Terrorism’, especially after the Palestinian reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas that provoked the media.”

‘Israel’ newspaper published an article by Dore Gold under the title “Israel Must Cut the PLO’s Funding”; in which he called on the Israeli government to consider some solid steps in order to prevent announcing a Palestinian state next September.

He said, “It is absolutely prohibited for Israel to tolerate with the Palestinian initiative. Israel must cut financial aid to PLO institutions according to US Congress appeal.”

Avi Dichter, Kadima Knesset member published a racist article titled “Only a Donkey Errs Twice”  in ‘Ynetnews’ daily newspaper; in which he described Abbas as a ‘Donkey’ after the reconciliation agreement with Hamas.

He wondered, “How would president Abbas commit the same mistake with Hamas twice?”

Dichter said, “Abbas’s answer is a clever one; as he said that Hamas is a part of the Palestinian community and that’s why I stand with them, Israel is a peace partner and I have to tolerate with them.”

Dichter explained, “That’s Abbas’s simple logic! Instead of working to find two states for two people, he wants to establish three states for two people!”
‘NRG’ website published an article titled “Arabs Don’t Want a Palestinian State” by Israeli Right-Wing Activist, Moshe Feiglin; in which he criticized the West and Israeli mentality.

Feiglen said that “Palestinians are seeking the UN recognition of a Palestinian state within the borders of 1967 while they still attack Israeli cities!”

He added that “all signs show that Israel is working on establishing a Palestinian state; it is planning for an unexpected withdraw from Judea and Samaria, however, Arabs don’t want a Palestinian state, they want to terminate the Jewish existence.”

Israeli political activist, Eli Avidar wrote an article published on ‘NRG’ website under the title “Israel Must Stop Pampering Palestinian Prisoners”; in which he criticized the way Israel is dealing with Hamas regarding the case of the kidnapped Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit. He presented ideas and suggestions to the Israeli government to pressure Hamas to release Shalit, saying, “Israel must destabilize Hamas’s solid ground.”

He added, “There are tens of ways to destabilize Hamas; we must start a mass campaign to target Palestinians, especially the families of prisoners. Israel must stop pampering prisoners and we must pressurize all 6000 political prisoners and not only Hamas’ prisoners whom we are willing to release.”

‘Israel Today’ published an instigating article by Ofir Akunis titled “Establishing an Islamic Terrorist State Must be Stopped”; in which he said, “The Palestinian Authority adopted a strategic decision to ally with Hamas and cut negotiations with Israel. Palestinians decided to stand by the ‘butchers of freedom’. It makes sense that the first government to bless the reconciliation was Iran!”

He added, “It is Israel’s chance to explain to the world that their silence regarding the Palestinian unilateral attempt to obtain UN recognition of a Palestinian state next September may lead to establishing an additional Islamic terrorist state.”

Emuna Alon wrote an article titled “There are No Moderate Palestinians”; in which she claimed that there is no moderate political parties in Palestine. She said that the reconciliation revealed an important thing; PLO is consisted of extreme members.

She added, “the reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas shows Abbas’s submission to Hamas.”

‘NFC’ website published a racist article by Nurit Granger under the title “Palestinian Activists’ Bodies Must be Buried with Pegs”; in which she attacked the reconciliation and called on to assassin all Palestinian leaders.

She said, “Israel must be as hard as iron. If those who call themselves ‘Palestinians’ announce a unilateral “Palestinian state”, Israel must cancel Oslo accords, the Road Map and every agreement signed with the murderous Arabs.”

She instigated against Egypt (which threatens Israel), saying “Israel will not wait to be attacked by Egypt and will initiate, firing nuclear weapons at Aswan Dam.

Granger explained, “In 24 hours, 80% of Egypt will drown (remember Pharaoh?). As for the 20% left, they will drink water polluted with the bodies of their relatives, and live without food or power. They can eat with the crocodiles which feed on humans in the Nile.”

“Hamodia” newspaper published a racist article under the title “Palestinian Policemen are animals, Impossible to be Tamed” by Menachem Klogman; in which he said, “Everyday it is more clear that the Palestinians are just like the rest of the Arabs. They will not get rid of their deep hatred of Jews.”

He added that “Israel gave the Palestinian police weapons to preserve the law within the PLO areas and stop terrorists’ attacks; instead they are using these weapons to harm the Jews. They are vicious animals that can’t be controlled!”

Nurit Granger, wrote a racist article published on ‘NFC’ website titled “Islamic Ideology is Not Different than Nazi Ideology”; in which she said that the Islamic ideology is similar to Nazism, Fascism and Communism as they all represent a danger to the free world.”

She added, “We should have stopped trying to reach an agreement with those terrorists since the first Intifada which killed many innocent Jews.”

‘NRG’ website published news by Journalist, Eric Bender, under the title of “Arab Knesset Members are Traitors and Murderers”; in which he discussed the Israeli right-wing’s criticism against Arab Knesset members after participating in signing the reconciliation agreement in Cairo.”

He quoted Jewish Knesset members who said that “we wish if the Arab members would stay in Cairo and never come back to Israel.”

Amos Gilboa wrote an article titled “Abbas’s True Face” published on ‘NRG’ website; in which he pointed out the importance of offering an Israeli proposal sponsored by the UN to President Obama; which suggests a way to deal with the unilateral Palestinian decision that aims to establish a Palestinian state.

He said that the Palestinian division between Fatah and Hamas is an ideological, social and governmental one; Hamas will remain in control of Gaza and will not change its anti-Israel agendas.

He accused Hamas and Abbas of “playing a game to deceive the Europeans and some Israelis until September; Abbas is not seriously considering any final deal with Israel that will force him to give up on the Right to Return and recognize Israel as a Jewish state.”

‘NFC’ published an inciting article under the title “Palestinian State is a Ticking Bomb”; in which he warned from the reconciliation agreement, claiming that it will cause more ‘terrorism’ against Israel.

He said, “Terrorism is hiding behind the so called ‘Arab Unity’; the Palestinian state is a ticking bomb!”

He called on Israel to annex Judea, Samaria and Galilee to Israel and stop any negotiations with the Palestinians until they stop their terrorism.”
