Settlers Clash with Palestinians near Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus

NABLUS, May 3, 2011 (WAFA) – Dozens of settlers entered Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus late Monday under Israeli army protection and refused to leave when they were required to, according to local residents.

The settlers tied themselves up inside the Tomb in order not to be forced to leave. The army however, was able to untie them and got them out, according to local residents.
They said Palestinians in the area clashed with the army and settlers, early Tuesday, throwing rocks at them. The soldiers arrested two teenagers from Balata refugee camp.

In the village of Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya, south of Nablus, soldiers set up a checkpoint at the village’s main entrance Monday morning, preventing Palestinians from entering or leaving. They detained a number of youth and checked their identity cards.
