Exports, Imports Down in February, PCBS

 

RAMALLAH, April 27, 2011 (WAFA) – Palestinian exports decreased in February by 15.2% compared with January and reached $56.6 million, Wednesday said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

 

Exports to Israel decreased in February by 15.5% compared with January 2011.

 

Exports decreased by 14.0% to other countries during the same period compared with January 2011.

 

Exports to Israel represent 92.8% of total exports in February.

 

Imports decreased in February by 8.4% compared to January and reached $386.2 million.

 

Imports from Israel decreased by 12.3% in February compared to January. Imports from Israel represent 68.8% of total imports.

 

Imports from other countries increased by 2.7% in February compared to January 2011.

 

The trade balance, which is the difference between exports and imports, decreased by 7.1% compared with January 2011 and reached $329.6 million.
