HEBRON, April 27, 2011 (WAFA) - Palestinian Prisoner’s Club (PPC) Wednesday held Israel responsible for the life of injured prisoner Hatem Talahmah, 45.
In a press release, PPC said Israeli forces arrested Talahmah on Tuesday after they shot and injured him. He was transferred to Soroka hospital in Beersheba in southern Israel.
Witnesses said Israeli soldiers beat Talahmah heavily and allowed police dogs to drag him viciously in front of them.
PPC called on the International Red Cross to intervene in order to release Talahmah and uncover the Israeli crime committed against him.
Talahmah suffers from serious health problems in the heart and kidneys and needs constant medical care. The continuation of his arrest jeopardizes his life.
Israeli authorities intentionally neglect the medical needs of Palestinian prisoners.
