RAMALLAH, April 24, 2011 (WAFA) –Member of Legislative Council and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hanan Ashrawi, in a statement released on Sunday warned from the Israeli de facto policy and unilateral measures in Jerusalem, in notion to what is called ‘plan 2020’.

She described the plan as “Israel’s new crime” which aims to maintain the Arab population growth rate in Jerusalem, while there are between 15-20 thousands illegal housing units in the city.

“according to the plan, 47000 housing units will be built, while the planned Arab constructions remains in the wind”, she added, “Controlling over the city took a clearer path towards changing the city’s demographic, cultural and historical reality”.

Ashrawi accused Israel of violating International Law and Legitimacy with the implementation of its ethnic cleansing policy through enacting and conducting racist laws and plans which are unmonitored by the international community.

She said that the plan’s political aspect includes eliminating the Palestinian lawful presence in Jerusalem during the critical phase the city is going through now.

Ashwari warned the international community, Arabs and United Nations from the Israeli exploitation of the current situation in Arab countries and the world in dominating Jerusalem, and called them to take immediate measures in order to stop Israeli violations and settlements activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
