Naming Streets after Mer-Khamis and Arrigoni, says Ramallah Municipality

RAMALLAH, April 20, 2011 (WAFA) – Ramallah Municipality Wednesday decided to name two streets in Ramallah city after the late Activists, Juliano Mer-Khamis and Vittorio Arrigoni, according to its press release.

The municipality said that the reason of this decision is Mer Khamis and Arrigoni’s immense contribution to the Palestinian cause; as they presented the real suffering of the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, and exposed the Israeli crimes to the worldwide.

Mer Khamis was assassinated by a masked gunman in Jenin city in the West Bank in April 4, 2011, while ten days later, the body of the Italian activist Vittorio Arrigoni, was found inside a house in the Gaza Strip after he was kidnapped by Muslim extremists
