PPC Lawyers Document Israel’s Violations in Awarta

RAMALLAH, April 10, 2011 (WAFA) - Head of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (PPC) Qaddura Fares said Sunday that a number of lawyers will head to Awarta village, east of Nablus, to document the violations and crimes Israel has been committing daily against the village residents.

Fares said during a visit to Awarta that the documentation would go to the Supreme Court of Justice to stop these violations against women, children and the elderly of Awarta.

During the visit, the delegation listened to the residents’ complaints and suffering due to the ongoing Israeli raids and curfews. Released women detainees told the delegation about the events of 7th April, when they were arrested in the middle of the night.

The village and residents of Awarta are continuously attacked by Israeli soldiers and settlers, in the wake of the 11th March killing of five Jewish settlers in Itamar settlement, illegally constructed on Palestinian land belonging to Awarta.
