RAMALLAH, April 4, 2011 (WAFA) - The overall Industrial Production Index (IPI) in the Palestinian Territory with its base month (January 2011=100) reached 100.18 in February 2011, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), an increase of 0.18% compared with January 2011.
Rise in IPI for February was traced to changes in the quantity of mining and quarrying (relative share = 4.6%) which went up by 1.76; manufacturing (relative share = 80.5) up by 1.61; and water supply and electricity (relative share = 80.5), which went down by 8.06.
Relative share for the main industrial activities represents the percentage distribution of value added (VA) for the industrial institutions in 2009 in addition to the VA of olive presses.
