RAMALLAH, April 4, 2011 (WAFA)-  PLO  Executive Committee  Sunday denounced  the unjustified and  non-understandable reasons for Richard Goldstone’s retreat from the results  of  the UN fact finding mission,  which investigated Israeli war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip in 2008.

Goldstone’s retreat doesn’t deny the report’s credibility, particularly because it is based on tangible investigations on the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip, according to a press release by the committee.

Goldstone’s justification of the intentional  killing of civilians ,which included  29 members from the Samouni family, as an act  committed by individual soldiers,  is neither legally nor morally credible.

  This justification of such war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip, in the time of an Israeli new attack on Gaza, gives Israel excuse for this attack, the release added.

 “Else, How can Goldstone explain Israel’s refusal to cooperate with the fact finding mission?”, the release questioned.

Goldstone’s statements are part of an organized policy to exempt Israel from holding responsibility for its crimes, adding that his stance is a failed attempt to lessen the international siege on Israel.

The press release said that the international community and human rights’ organizations will not be fooled by Goldstone’s statements.
