MOSCOW, March 16, 2011 (WAFA) - Palestine’s ambassador to Russia Fayed Mustafa said Wednesday that President Mahmoud Abbas will pay an official visit to Russia early next week.
Abbas’ agenda includes meeting with Russia’s president, Dmitry Medvedev, and other Russian officials.
Mustafa said Abbas and Medvedev will discuss next Tuesday the latest developments in the region and bilateral relations.
Abbas will also discuss the difficulties that surround the peace talks, hindered by Israel’s settlement policies, and the expected outcome of the quartet’s forthcoming meeting.
Abbas’ visit to Moscow comes after Medvedev’s historical visit to Palestine in January, which reflects the depth of the relation between the two countries, said Mustafa.
