JERUSALEM, March 2, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday arrested four youths from Silwan, an East Jerusalem neighborhood, according to local sources.
In other Silwan news, an Israeli court sentenced Abdul Rahim Abbasi, 26, an activist from Silwan to 28 months in prison on charges of resisting the Israeli occupation. This is Abbasi's third arrest.
Israeli authorities extended house arrest of Jawad Siyam, director of Wadi Hilweh information center in Silwan, until his next hearing on March 14.
Siyam has been under house-arrest since early January and is allowed only to leave his house in the morning to go to his work at the center.
In the West Bank city of Hebron, Israeli soldiers arrested Tuesday Palestinian human rights activist Issa Ismail Amro, 30, after he was summoned for interrogation in Kiryat Arba' detention center.
Amro was arrested and transferred to Etzion detention center, south of Bethlehem, according to local sources. This is Amro's fourth arrest.
