LONDON, March 1, 2011 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas starts Sunday an official visit to United Kingdom, where he will meet British Prime Minister David Cameron and other British officials as well as members of the Palestinian and Arab communities.

Abbas will discuss latest developments in the region, particularly the deadlock in the peace process and efforts to revive the stalled peace talks.

Britain voted in favor of a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israeli settlements, a step that received praise from Palestinian officials. It also tried to talk the United States out of vetoing the resolution, but without success.
