Road Cost Index Decreased by 0.70% in West Bank

RAMALLAH, September 16, 2009 (WAFA)- The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 104.63 in August 2009 with a decrease of 0.70% compared with the previous month in the West Bank*, (December 2008=100) Palestinian Central Bureau  of Statistics (PCBS) reported .

 

Analysis of Road Cost developments for August indicates a decrease in the cost of the following major groups: Iron and steel  by - 9.58%; Asphalt & bitumen mixture & its products by- 1.33%; Other metals  0.91%; Plastic products 0.63%.

 

On the other hand, there was an increase in the cost of the  following major groups: Road Paints + 2.48% ; Electric wires and cables + 1.77%; Cement products + 0.98%. (* West Bank: Excluding those parts of Jerusalem which were annexed by Israel in 1967.)
