RAMALLAH, September 8, 2009 (WAFA)- The Palestinian Presidency welcomed Tuesday the EU  Presidency declaration which calls on Israel to immediately end settlement activities, including in East Jerusalem and including natural growth, and to dismantle all outposts erected since March 2001.

Presidency Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rdeina said that the EU declaration forms the good basis for resuming the peace process, demanding the international Quartet (USA, Russia, EU and UN) to work firmly on this direction towards a genuine peace process that would lead to the two-state solution as well the establiment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
