RAMALLAH, August 17, 2009 (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas said, today, that “the success of Fateh’s 6th convention has pushed us forward to think of the mother of all Palestinians; the PLO. Thus, an extraordinary meeting of the National Council will be held to re-structure the PLO’s Executive Committee.”
The President added, in the Council of Ministers’ meeting which he chaired, that, the most important thing is to work among the Palestinian people, because Fateh considers itself the movement of all Palestinians.
The president added that despite everything Hamas did to prevent members in Gaza from participating, we have overcome the obstacle using telephones.
He commended the PLO factions’ support for Fateh’s conference, saying that, “authentic Palestinian factions want success for the national aspiration and Fateh movement.”
