UAE to Train 20 Disabled Palestinians

ABU DHABI, July 12, 2009 (WAFA)- Twenty disabled Palestinians from The Gaza Strip will receive a one-year long training at the UAE Interior Ministry's Rehabilitation and Employment Centers for People with Special Needs.

Under a grant given by Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, participants who would like to pursue their professional careers after the training will be offered jobs.

 

Emirate News Agency (WAM) quoted Nasser Al Sharaiqi, Coordinator of Centers saying that this new grant followed the first one in which Sheikh Saif offered training to 11 disabled persons from Lebanon.

 

''The new grant is in line with the UAE policy to support Arab brethren in all circumstances in confirmation of the approach of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,'' he said.

 

He added that, ''the initiative shows the solidarity of the UAE and its people with the people of Palestine in the current circumstances they are experiencing.”

 

During the ten-month program, he continued, the disabled Palestinians would receive training on computer skills, e-design, and maintenance of electronic appliances.
