Mansour Addressing UN: Palestinian Conditions Deteriorating due to Israeli Aggressions



NEWYORK, December 29, 2007, (WAFA) - Palestine Permanent Observer in the United Nations Ryad Mansour submitted early Saturday typical messages to the UN Secretary General, head of the Security Council (Italy) and head of the UN General Assembly concerning the deteriorating situations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) including east Jerusalem due to the Israeli aggressions.

The message said "Israel furthers its military campaign against Gaza Strip, killing 22 Palestinians and wounding dozens within a week. It as well resumes its military aggression in the West Bank by arresting dozens and rolling into the cities".

"Israel, breaching the International Law, Geneva Forth Convention and Human Rights, it only intensifies the violence cycle and highly jeopardizes the peace process", the message added.

The message as well tackled the Israeli illegal settlement activities in the OPT, mostly in east Jerusalem and its vicinity saying "such activities breach the UN resolutions".

In conclusion, Mansour stressed the significance of the international community role especially the UN so as to take proper measures that would pressurize Israel halts its aggressions against the Palestinian people.
