President: Intensive Efforts to Release BBC Reporter
GAZA, April 5, 2007, (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas said on Thursday that he has been exerting intensive effort for the release of the BBC reporter Alan Johnston.
Abbas told reporters in Gaza that he is so interested in the issue of Johnston, asserting on his release as soon as possible.
President revealed that he discussed the issue of Johnston with the PM and Minister of interior, the "final touches" and the "suitable method" to guarantee the safety of Johnston and his return to his family.
He mentioned that he discussed yesterday, on a phonecall, Johnston's issue with the UK Foreign Minister, Magritte Becket.
