President Receives Phonecall from UK Foreign Minister


RAMALLAH, April 4, 2007, (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas received on Wednesday a phonecall from the British Foreign Minister Margaret Beckett.

President and British Foreign Minister discussed various issues focusing on the revival of a meaningful peace process, in the Middle East, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the Palestinian territory occupied by Israel in 1967.

Abbas briefed Becket about the latest developments in the Palestinian territory, asserting on the end of the siege against the Palestinian people.

They also discussed the issue of the kidnapped BBC reporter, Alan Johnston. President promised the British Minister to exert all efforts to release him.
